Providence Township Fire & Rescue is a community backed organization with a broad volunteer history. Founded as Neapolis Volunteer Fire Department on community backed fundraisers building Station 88 in Neapolis, Ohio in the 1950's. Now as a department of Providence Township, supported by our gracious citizens through levies. Over 65 years of history, and a dedication to help the members of our community fill the hearts of every volunteer of our fire and rescue department.
Currently our department is staffed as a combination department with part-time (career), and volunteer (paid-per-call) firefighters and emergency medical responders. As a volunteer responder you would respond from home when an emergency call comes in to our station in Neapolis. Our volunteer firefighters are a vital roll in our operation and needed to help fulfill our daily mission to our residents.

But, I have Questions...
Of course you do, and we wont be able to answer them all here but here are a few frequently asked.
"But, I've never been a firefighter before..."
No Worries - you don't need experience! We'll put you through the training you need to get your firefighter, EMT, and CPR certifications.
"I'm pretty busy. What's the time commitment?"
Two to four hours of training a month. Firefighter I and EMT are each about a semester worth of class. As for calls - when you're available, you respond from home.
"my family is a bit nervous..."
Totally understandable! Firefighting is a dangerous job. We give you the best possible training to prepare you for intense situations. And did you know retail workers have a higher fatality rate in the Unites States than firefighters?*
We welcome your families to attend drill nights ahead and encourage you to let them be your decision. Their support will be vital to your success as a firefighter and/or EMT.
